Bjorn Ulvaeus: Reasons why music is important for children
Bjorn Ulvaeus' reasons why music education is important
"Every child deserves to have a teacher who tries to teach them music", Abba's Bjorn Ulvaeus has said.
The songwriter and producer said that music "helps your intelligence" and that "it's a big responsibility for a teacher to bring music to a child" and encourage them to understand it's possible for them to be able play an instrument or sing.
Bjorn co-wrote, along with Benny Andersson, Waterloo the song that swept ABBA to fame when they were crowned winners at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974.
The 74-year-old recalls his earliest memory of receiving his first musical instrument, a Christmas present of a small guitar when he was 11-years-old.
