Abba became dormant at the end of 1982, as the group members went their seperate ways. Benny and Bjorn started work on the musical Chess with Tim Rice. Agnetha and Frida both resumed their solo careers.
Agnetha decided to make her first English solo album, called Wrap Your Arms Around Me. She wanted a sound that was different from Abba and called upon the services of famous producer Mike Chapman, who knew of her and was most happy to oblige. He enlisted help from many of the musicians and backing vocal artists that were with ABBA, so that Agnetha was comfortable in the familiar Polar Studios in Stockholm for the recordings.
The album was completed by April and released in May, and sold over 2 million copies worldwide. This song "The Heat Is On" was released as a single. Agnetha made a promotional tour for the album, that took her all over Europe and a visit was also made to America.
The album reached No. 1 in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Belgium and Denmark and No. 18 in UK. The Heat Is On single reached No. 1 in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Holland.
As part of her promotional tour Agnetha performed 6 songs from her new album in a show called "The Heat Is On Special" in April 1983.
Here she arrives in grand style for the title song, and gives a typically confident live performance, fronting a strong backing lineup. Fantastic Agnetha! What a great way to restart your solo career!

Agnetha and Björn had decided in the autumn of
1978 to call their marriage over.
They stayed together until after celebrating Jul one
more time for the childrens sake.
Then, on Christmas Day Agnetha and the children
left the house
and moved 7minutes away to the
new house
on Jupitervägen.
Several weeks later, on January 16, the fact that
they were getting a divorce was announced.
"What has happened only concerns the
2 of us." said Agnetha, "There is no point in
talking about what went wrong with our marriage.The fact is that Björn and I can
no longer live together."
" Christian doesn't know anything about
what's going on because he's too young,
but Linda understands. In the end the 3
of us sat down to talk about it. It's almost one month since we seperated and I think
she prefers to see her parents are happier now.
And anyway, I'm only 7 min. away from
Björn. The news is no surprise to Benny
and Frida because they are so close to us
and can see how we work."

this evening.
It's a private matter and we've already
explained ourselves in an earlier interview.
Also, the man named as my fiancé is
just one of our friends.(Agnetha and Björn's pychiatrist) The only man in my life right now is my son Christian."
Björn was irritated and said:
I assure you that Agnetha and myself work very well together, but that we could no longer go on living together. Your questions always used to be about money. Now, all you talk about is our divorce. It's a matter between Agnetha and myself. I'd be grateful if you'd please stop specualting about our private lives."
2 hours later they were shown ice skating together along with Benny and Frida.

... 1979 concert, Agnetha said they had to find a new way to work together onstage
because of their divorce. Looks like it was all ok.
Agnetha wanted nothing more than to stay at home with Linda and give her a
secure, loving home and upbringing. But Björn was in the swing with ABBA wanting
to work all the time.
Björn said regarding promotional trips during ABBA, "...between Agnetha and
myself it was always difficult, because I wanted to go, and
she didn't want to."

They maintain a friendship
these days. They have their children
and a grandchild in common. Linda and her daughter Tilda live on Agnetha's farm.
Björn goes out there several times a year.
Agnetha has been invited to Björns birthdays and Björn has been invited to hers.
