 From concert to concert, from town to town...

I've just attended a press screening of ABBA - The Movie, as a preview of the forthcoming Fan Events taking place in many parts of the world on 17 and 19 September (abbathemovie.com). The movie just gets better and better every time I watch it: the concert scenes are simply riveting - I was on the verge of applauding after several numbers! - and Agnetha and Frida never looked better than they do in this film.

The screenings start with the "extras": a short film about ABBA The Museum, featuring an interview with Ingmarie Halling, followed by a film about ABBA Voyage; Ludvig Andersson, Svana Gisla, and Björn and Benny are interviewed.

Finally, there are scenes from the January 1977 rehearsals for the 1977 concert tour. Some of the footage from these rehearsals has been seen in the DVD extras for ABBA - The Movie, and in the ABBAWORLD exhibition, but I think there are some previously unseen sequences included here.

Then it's time for ABBA - The Movie. The screening ends with the lyric videos for Dancing Queen, Voulez-Vous and Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight).

Queen Silvia talked about "Dancing Queen"

La nueva serie documental de TV4 sobre Rey - como Reina Silvia sale como el mayor fanático de Abba de la familia real.

Su relación con el grupo pop más famoso de Suecia comenzó en el momento en que Silvia se llamaba Sommerlath y era una prometida real.

La fiebre por Silvia y la histeria de Abba hicieron hervir a Suecia y ahora era el 18 de junio de 1976, la noche antes de la boda de la pareja real.

En la Royal Opera de Estocolmo, las celebraciones de la boda acababan de comenzar con la lujosa gira de gala, y Silvia se sentó en el Royal Lodge en la primera tiara de su hija de 32 años: la diadema adornada de la princesa Sibylla.

Y ahí fue cuando sucedió:

Abba, el grupo pop más popular de Suecia, subió repentinamente al escenario, con Agnetha en púrpura y Anni-Frid en turquesa. Y así, el rey y Silvia, sí, todo el mundo, escucharon Dancing Queen por primera vez.

Desde entonces, han pasado 47 años completos, pero la reina es igual de entusiasta:

- Fueron maravillosos, Abba! ella dice en el documental de TV4.

- Fue la primera vez que los vi y los escuché. Y pensé que era muy especial! Fue tan cordial y amigable y cercano cuando cantaron, dice ella, y el rey continúa:

- Sí, no es sabio, donde quiera que estés en el mundo, esa canción aparece. Está realmente atascado!
